 EMMY

I am Sweet Emmeline Jane. My Mom, Connie Hunt, calls me EmmyJane, Emmy, and Em…and often, simply, ‘sugar bean’. I am a yellow Labrador puppy bred and reared by Gochee Labradors on their farm in Sherrard, Illinois. I was born in the middle of the night with my twelve other siblings, and the entire Gochee Family had a hand in loving me and teaching me so that I can one day become a Mobility Service Dog for my Mom. On my 8th Week Birthday, I flew with Rachael Gochee all the way to LAX where I met my Mom and my new sister, Daisy, who is my mom’s (now retired) Mobility Service Dog. I am in awe of Daisy, probably mostly because she looks so much like my Mother, Sierra. I also have a big brother named T.E.D., aka Teddy. He is a Smooth Collie and is only about eight months older than me. We are the best of friends.

Like Teddy, I was introduced to Puppy Culture on Day 3 of my life. This program has helped to shape me into the receptive, loving, sweet, resilient, and intelligent girl I am today. My Mom continued the program once I came home as well as doing extra socialization for me during my early weeks. All of this has helped me to become the well-adjusted and astute dog in the public space now that I am working with my Mom every day as her new Mobility Service Dog. Working is great fun, and I enjoy experiencing the world with my Mom. I am continually learning how to help her navigate the public space even better. Please follow me on Instagram and Facebook, and check back here for updates!
