 DAISY

A white/yellow Labrador looks into the camera while in a down/stay on the floor in First Class on American Airlines. Daisy is wearing a black leather Mobility guide harness with a sign that says "Service Dog Ask to Pet."

8 MARCH 2010 - 26 DECEMBER 2023

I will always remember Daisy for the connection we shared. She was the most outgoing, curious, and sweet bundle of joy in my life. As I look back on her life with me, I see how much laughter and love she brought with her. Daisy started her life with me as my pet, and when I had surgery to remove a 4cm Acoustic Neuroma brain tumor (when she was six years old), she and I started training together to be Service Dog team. She helped me with balance out in the world when I went shopping and traveled, and we experienced so many ‘firsts’ together because of it. She really blew me away with how she approached becoming a Service Dog. Daisy was an excellent Service Dog and my best friend. Even as she aged, and I had to retire her from work, she continued to bring joy to me, to everyone who visited, and she loved her new younger brother, Teddy, and her new younger sister, Emmy. I swear she had many ‘conversations’ with Emmy about how to best help me as my new Service Dog, and even as she suffered in the last days of her life from an aggressive bone cancer in her back left knee, she continued to give us all love and accept our love and help. I will always remember sharing my Christmas dinner with her. She taught me so much! And I will miss her forever.
